The Center for Applied Coaching

The Center for Applied Coaching is dedicated to the application of coaching skills and principles to enrich professional and leadership practice.

We offer certificate programs in applied coaching to help individuals integrate coaching methods into their work.

We also engage in ongoing study and education focused on the strategic application of coaching to develop professional competencies and improve business outcomes.

Founders

Jean Davies, MBA, PCC, has directed and delivered professional coach certification training worldwide, to groups both small and large in Canada, the U.S., U.K., Turkey and Scandinavia. Jean was instrumental in developing and delivering the pioneering Executive Coaching Skills program for Scotiabank Commercial, which was awarded the ICF's Prism Award honoring project excellence.

A principal with Third Generation Coaching, Jean has spent 20 years leading, guiding, mentoring and coaching for exceptional results in corporate environments. She has recently served as a leadership coaching assessor for Hamilton Health Sciences and is at present an active leader and coach for public health initiatives in the education field.

As a volunteer, Jean gives freely of her coaching and mentoring expertise to diverse organizations such as the Schulich School of Business, Trent University in its Native Studies program, and her local Distress Centre Crisis Hotline.

Mary M. Wheeler RN, MEd, PCC, is a partner in donnerwheeler. Prior to establishing donnerwheeler in 1992, Mary held practice, management and education positions in the health care field.

donnerwheeler is a consulting firm specializing in designing, implementing, and evaluating career development, coaching, and mentoring programs in the health care field. In 2005, its implementation of a career/coaching program for the University Health Network, Toronto, was awarded the prestigious PRISM award of the ICF.

Mary has co-authored numerous publications and is a sought-after speaker. Her most recent publications include Taking Control of Your Career: A Handbook for Health Professionals and Coaching in Nursing: An Introduction. She is active in the ICF and the Association of Career Professionals International. She is also currently a member of the Ontario Ministry of Health, Mid-Career Nurse Working Group and the Nursing Advisory Committee, Ryerson University. Mary volunteers as a YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Coach.
